Discussion relating to the club's permanent HO layout in the Student Alumni Union (Building 4) on the campus of RIT.

How to (not) program locomotives...

Postby boblenon » Fri Nov 10, 2006 9:51 pm

So apparently, sometime last week, someone attempted to program a locomotive, and in doing so reprogrammed at least 5 other locos with the same road number.

If you dont know how to program, ask for help. If you are unsure, ask for help. If you reprogram the entire layout please tell someone. I brought several units to the freemo meet that had been reprogrammed and I did not discover their problem until my return. I would have liked to not have this problem. So please the next time someone thinks they've done this - please let someone know. Better yet, just be careful, and it wont be a problem.

thanks,

"When in doubt, ask." can be quickly followed up by, "After something unexpected happens, let someone else know." That way, we can help avoid surprises.

At least this isn't like the time when the whole layout was reprogrammed.

Thank god. I tried not to mess anything up, but I wasn't sure if it was me.
