New R&IT Motive Power!

Postby Robert Middleton » Thu Apr 22, 2010 8:58 pm

Robert showed off his new SW1500 today. A welcome addition, as our fleet of good switching locomotives consisted solely of 7422, which Robert had detailed the other year.

Yes, an R&IT locomotive with Operation Lifesaver paint! This new locomotive is an Athearn model, as opposed to 7422, which is an Atlas MP-15.

We have also pressed into service our SD40-2, an ex-MILW Kato unit which had motor issues but now appear to be fixed:

As you may know, our last SD40-2 was painted by Mike Smith many years ago, as No. 7698. We're slowly working down the list of numbers for SD40's, and hope to reach 7690 sometime in the future.

Yay, SD-40s! Now we just need to get that curve fixed on the inside of the layout...
