Module Skirting --- calling all module owners!

Postby Mike Walsh » Wed Aug 01, 2007 4:19 pm

Well, we are now at the point where we should appear to be more professional in presenting our modules. So, now we return to the subject of module skirting.

We did indeed purchase two bolts (I presume that it was 50ft long per bolt) of skirting from Jered, I believe.. But, now with RITMRC's Free-mo yard, that will use up most, if not all of our skirting, as our yard is around 40-50 feet long.

So, now I am looking at skirting for my own modules, and you all should be, too. I found an online supplier, which sells table/stage skirting, and it is sold as fire-proofed material. Apparently, a bolt that measures 40" x 50yds is $90.00 (double that for a 100yd bolt). It is 100% polyester, but is also durable flame resistant -- it meets NFPA 701, which satisfies fire marshalls' requirements for fire-proof skirting.

I am wondering if there is any interest in splitting an order of this bolt. I would be glad to purchase it, then split it up with those who are interested in purchasing some skirting.

Is anyone interested? If so, please post here. You will want to add an inch or two to the linear length of each side of your module. so, if you've got a module set that is 92" long, perhaps 94" will work for you. then multiply this by two.

by the way, I am thinking that this would be $0.75 per foot which is actually a good deal. So, if you've an 8' module set, multiply this by two, and that's how many feet you'd need to order (8 ft module set = $12.00 for skirting!)

Anyone interested? BTW, I think Jered mentioned that this might be needed for syracuse... and I know it will be mandatory for Tiger Tracks!

Here's a color sample:

I dont want to wait too long, so please let me know soon! End of august, I am thinking is when I will seriously decide go/no-go for ordering it.

I'll throw down for about 25' at that price for my three 4' modules.

Walsh, that's a good idea. Skirting goes a long way to creating a "professional" looking atmosphere.
